Mayela Rosales
Host of the most popular Spanish language TV show in Southwest Florida, D’Latinos al Dia celebrating 8 years in 2010. Originally, from Maracaibo, Venezuela, she has a degree in Journalism and Communications from the prestigious University of Zulia, spending 12 years in TV commercial production, creating international advertising campaigns and broadcast quality TV programs.
Mayela Rosales was the pioneer in creating local-Spanish content to the SW Florida area, becoming a Latina leader in local television and also in the community.
Mayela has been so well noted for her courage, character and community concern, recently, Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart, delivered a special recognition from Congress, as they honored her as one of 10 most influential women in the USA in 2009. Her name will forever be carved in stone in the Capitol of the United States, Washington D.C.
As the public visibility of her organization increases, Rosales says she sees her role as a challenge and responsibility as a “Latina Leader”, to grow her business, grow relationships that brings profit to the company, without setting aside her commitment to communicate to her audience and readers the most accurate and valuable information to the growing Hispanic Community in the country.
Carlos Zapata
After working for about eight years in Broadcast Journalism in Ecuador, Carlos Zapata, started his media career in the United States in May of 2005. Carlos was focused and determined to be a part of Southwest Florida’s leading media team, D’Latinos al Día, a local morning show produced by WTPH Azteca America SWFL where at present time he is the news anchor and carries out the segment Noticias SWFL (NEWS SEGMENT) , furthermore he coordinates the performance and accomplishments of the show as the senior producer.
In Southwest Florida, Carlos is involved and has worked close with campaigns and groups that help to reflect the reality of the Hispanic community. Among the political figures and personalities he has interviewed while working in South Florida include: Charlie Crist, Governor of Florida, Jeb Bush, Former Governor of Florida, congressman Connie Mack, senator Mel Martinez, House of Representative Marco Rubio and Mario Diaz Balart. He describes himself as passionate for the journalism and communication fields; he also loves sports. Mr. Zapata has served on the Healthy Start and Salvation Army Board of Directors since March 2009.
In 2008 Carlos was selected as one of 40 under 40 young professionals in SWFL, also in that year he won Dancing With The Stars for a Literacy Volunteers competition.
Recently Carlos expanded to his career as a Model and he has been on the runway in Miami Fashion Week and editorial campaigns.
